Wow. A lot of response on my old buss. Some nice and some confusing.
Just so people know here on the forum that this was ment to be a keeper and for me this is the ultimate split buss (pre 62 panel van with small lights and a 2 metre sunroof) even though its not in a amazing dry never been rusty condition.
I sold it for a few reasons- I quit working at the garage that ive been building it at tomorrow so i am left with nowhere to work on it or store it over the winter. im not rich so i need the money to support me in between jobs. Those are the main reasons, so it was not a quick fix and to sell it on for a profit.
Yes there is filler in the body, but thats the only way i know how to fix for example the sill i welded into the long panel and if any one has watched campervan crisis then they will know im not the only one to do this.
The welded hatch panel is still under there as it was straighter than i could do and it had been lead filled so i fixed over that.
The roof yes is from
www.parisbeetles.co.uk and ive always wanted a early panel with a large sunroof so i didnt feel sad to cut the roof.
Yes the back lights arnt the ones that came with the buss, i dont like that look so i bought some tail light metal plates with small light hole cut into them and i welded them in.
The bus is built to function and look ok nothing more or i will worry about scratching it, the last one i built i used all winter(good memories).
I guess i have to expect people to make comments on my workmanship but i didnt have any interest in building this any different
this.
I worked on it for over a year with sweat, blood and tears but for me it was worth it as it is now.
I would like to thank Arnstein and leif for there help and maybe one day i will get to own such a car again.
