jeg snakker bare litt norsk, så jeg håper det er greit at jeg skriver mitt problem på engelsk.

I changed the "Toppdekselpakning"(Rocker Cover Gasket) on my VW T3 JX yesterday, since it leaked some oil before and the owner before me already bought the part and told me that this has to be done.

So yesterday I changed the old "pakning" with the new one, two totally different parts, the old one seemed to be a cork one and the new one is made of rubber.

After I drove home ca. 100KM, I saw the mess, a lot of the parts were full of oil and it was leaking a lot under the car. After a check, I figured that I am almost out of oil.(I took some pictures if need).

Since changing the "pakning" was the only thing I did, I guess the new "pakning" has to be unfitting/not tight enough..

I can see that in the part I builded in, there are some "avstandholderne" included, those were not present in the package yesterday, so I just used the rubber sealing around the screws and closed/screwed the case back on.

Is it normal that my Rocker Cover leaks now with this part and do I need to order the following cork sealing for my VW T3 JX http://www.hotshop.as/index.php/butikk/produkt/11989-toppdekselpakning-sett to make it tight and fitting again(since it is not saying VW T3, just VW T4 on the discription)?

Maybe it's more help at the vwbus.no forum? More people with more experience "over there" with T3/T4 watercooled engines.

This forum is for Volkswagens with aircooled engines.
