Solid Rocker Assembly Setup
 
With the variance found in heads, rocker shafts, rocker spacers and rocker arms it will be necessary to “fit” each rocker spacer and assembly during the assembly of the engine.
 
To do this you will assemble each rocker arrangement complete with rocker arms, spacers, hardened spacer shims and shafts and slide it onto position on the cylinder head. You must ensure that the bevel on the bottom of the rocker shaft faces down, toward the head or damage to the shaft/studs could occur.
 
Tighten the shaft into place and torque the fasteners to 15 lb/ft. Then check the side play in the shaft. These should be tight or may be almost seized in place as we have made these spacers to fit very tight to reduce valve train noise.
 
Using a belt sander or file remove an even amount of material across the aluminum spacer, refitting it till no more than .006 of horizontal  lash is found in the assembly with the unit torqued into place.
